Nurse Call Systems – Work in Progress

Like all the other technologies these days, there are still studies and work being done on wanting to do more innovations on the many state-of-the-art nurse call systems Queensland today. However, regardless of brands and models, all are for patients to call for emergency assistance with a single push of a button or a pull on a string.

In some systems, a panel lights up and alerts the nurses and hospital staff with an LED indicators and a tone. The various emergency stations within the medical facility has additional buttons, pull cords and call indicator lights assigned in different locations in the health complex.

Various systems

Some systems of nurse calls are promoted focusing on their various uses and not just for the medical facilities and hospitals but are also adaptable for use in outpatient clinics and nursing homes. The main selling point is its reliability and ease of use.

There are now several added features to the system like the zone lights and software that provides data-logging. This is used in monitoring medical alert devices ands the subsequent broadcast notifications that will inform the state of emergency.

Nurse calls

When a patient calls, whether in emergency situations or some other personal needs of the patient, the alert is registered by a light on the annunciator panel alongside the corridor outside the patient’s room.

This activated nurse call light gives the staff of the hospital (or nursing homes or outpatient’s clinics) to quickly and efficiently respond to the emergency.

At-a-glance info

The system enables the nurses and the staff concerned an at-a-glance information report on the panel. Immediately, doctors, nurses, caregivers or some staff can help right away the patient in need.

With the patient’s calls (either in emergency situation or some other personal needs of the patient), the alert is accompanied by a light on the annunciator.  This light activation gives the hospital staff (or nursing homes or outpatient clinics) to quickly and efficiently respond to the emergency.

Customization

The system can easily be customized according to the needs of the facility and that of their patients. The system had been programmed to learn form its mistakes. It is also designed by simply operations. This gives the staff more chances of providing care and other assistance and care than on learning computer techniques.

Being designed for appropriate customization, the system’s flexibility is expanded with these operational calls. One of the more significant customizations is the ability to include the many available components.

Additions

For practical purposes, the customization is for meeting the expanding needs of the facility. These could include the basic system, the bedside nurse call buttons, and more duty stations and call lights within the facility. This is simply adding more alert points.

The others include software for reporting, accountability, and broadcast notifications. Others have medical pagers for either hard-wired or wireless systems. Today’s nurse call systems Queensland are still works in progress.
